Wechter Guitars now uses Plek Pro to setup most of the guitars in our shop. Have your guitar set up by our expert luthiers with our Plek Pro and experience the finest accuracy possible in fret work.
Here are our prices:
$25 - Estimate
Before we do any cutting we will let you know if you will need frets, nut or saddle replaced. We can also let you know if your neck will require any sanding to straighten out high or low spots. There is a non refundable $25 fee for this estimate.
After we receive your authorization we will go ahead and perform the work on your guitar. Here are our prices:
$150 - Standard Plek Setup - cut and polish frets, set action height at nut and saddle
$300 - Refret & Standard Plek Setup
$40 - Replace nut with bone nut
$30 - Replace saddle with bone saddle
Sanding neck to straighten, and replacing inlays if necessary is quoted before work starts on a per instrument basis.
Examples:
If you send us a guitar and we don't need to do anything other than the standard Plek set up, your cost would be $175 ($25 estimate & $150).
If we have to refret and replace the nut before doing the Plek setup, your cost would be $365 ($25 estimate, $40 replace nut, $300 refret and standard Plek setup).
We also ask that you pay shipping charges both ways to our shop, or bring the instrument in yourself.
IMPORTANT: If you'd like to have an instrument set up with our Plek Pro, please call or email BEFORE sending your instrument, so that we can set up the tracking information to receive your guitar correctly and issue you a Return Authorization Number.
